Notice: I'm currently unavailable for speaking engagements,
but below is some information that may be of interest.

I'm available for presentations about my solo run across America, as well as the other state/country running adventures I've had. During school assemblies I share information about the importance of having a healthy lifestyle and pursuing goals and dreams. I weave into my presentations inspiring, and sometimes humorous, experiences I've had while being a journey runner.

I grew up in Alaska, but have spent most of my adult life living and running in western Montana. I enjoy speaking to audiences of all ages. My message of learning to persevere through life with a healthy body and positive attitude is one that any audience can enjoy, regardless of age. Depending on the audience age, I tailor my message for optimal interest and understanding by those attending and always allow for a question and answer period. Whether it be an elementary school, middle school, high school, college class, sports team, running club, retirement home, road race event, medical facility, business, church group, or other community organization, I always aim to deliver a thought-provoking message designed to intrigue and challenge listeners.

I typically bring along an inspirational music slideshow to share images of my journeys. Presentation times range from 30 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on the time available, and I'll do multiple presentations in a day, if needed. I can even bring along "BOB" (my support stroller) so that the audience can see up close what I push for thousands of miles during my running adventures.

I've been fortunate to be the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. I've also received the Healthy Hero Award from the Mayo Clinic for my work in promoting childhood health across the United States. I've been honored to be inducted as the first European PTA Youth Ambassador for my ongoing efforts in promoting youth health and fitness at a global level, and was an Olympic Games Torchbearer in 2002. My ultra-endurance running treks have been featured in numerous print, Internet, radio and television reports. However, I truly don't run for accolades or media coverage, and the best title I've ever held is "Dad"
Ė having raised four children of my own.

Contact me to inquire about a presentation at your location. My expenses (such as lodging, transportation and meal costs) must be covered, as well as a modest speaking fee; however, discounts are available for multiple presentations
Ė including multiple schools/venues in the same community.

Below are a few comments I've received from some presentation attendees:
